Now that you have reviewed the 5 Levels and 7 Subject Areas of Early Childhood Core Content you are ready to look at how this applies to developing a training session. Let’s start with the concept of single level training. Single level training means that the session you develop will target one level of core content only. By targeting one level you can match the training to the current level of the participant’s knowledge and skill in that topic and can publicize the session accordingly.
A trainee might be brand new to the early care and education field or she/he might have several years of experience in the early care and education field.
These two adults will not bring the same level of knowledge and skills to an early care and education classroom or a family child care setting…
NOR should they attend the same training session due to their differing knowledge and skill needs.
