A health information system that provides interoperability and secured health information exchange between physicians, hospitals, and laboratories across the state.
Provides development and maintenance of cabinet systems related to eligibility, Medicaid, social support services, and strategic services.
Provides central review and oversight of the $14 billion CHFS annual budget. OFB provides coordination, support, independent review and analysis to CHFS agencies on behalf of the Secretary’s Office. OFB also provides financial analysis to CHFS leadership and serves as the communication link between various Cabinet financial management groups, the Governor’s Office, State Budget Director’s Office, legislators and the Legislative Research Commission.
Administers internal personnel programs including payroll, EEO investigations, disciplinary procedures, ADA compliance, oversight of the Limited English Proficiency program, exit interviews, satisfaction surveys, and hiring new employees.
Regulates health care and child care facilities statewide and also performs audits and investigations related to abuse of CHFS related programs.
Provides legal advice and assistance to all units of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
The Office of Public Affairs provides information about programs, services, and other matters related to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to the media, members of the public, and employees. The office also develops news releases and other materials, including the CHFS Community newsletter and podcast.
