Since 2016, Innovative Supports (ISAW) for Autistic Workers has offered training on autism to employers across Kentucky and beyond. Autism Informed Employers allows anyone to access ISAW training at their convenience. Learn to effectively interview, supervise, and retain autistic employees. We will show you ways to bridge communication gaps; understand sensory needs to create a more accessible workplace; provide simple and inexpensive accommodations; and identify highly qualified candidates you might have overlooked in the past. Introduction to Orientation for FCS Teachers
FCS teachers must complete this training in order to issue the Orientation certificate to their high school students. Current credentialed trainers who are a level 3, 4 or 5 who plan to conduct the 6 hr. Orientation for early care and education staff must complete this virtual Training-Of-Trainers. October 17, 2024 9:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. (Eastern) This is a virtual training and you will receive an email with the Zoom link once you are registered. Pre-Requisite(s): Certificate of completion for ECOOL (Early Care Orientation On-Line) or verification of completing the 6-hr orientation face-to-face dated between October 2022 - October 2024. Once you complete the pre-requisite, please email the completion certificate to bambi.cliffe@uky.edu by October 11, 2024 . The overarching purpose is to give genetic counselors tools to assess the administration of genetic screening and testing in the context of the disability rights movement, to recognize what constitutes balanced information, and to promote culturally competent practice as well as client-centered, informed, non- coercive and value-based decision-making.
