CHFS Divisions

Let’s take a look at some of the CHFS Divisions that are frequent partners of Guardianship.

Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities

Supports people with intellectual or other developmental disabilities by overseeing the state’s regional Community Mental Health/Intellectual Disability Centers (CMHCs), administering the Supports for Community Living (SCL) Waiver, and coordinating quality assurance and risk management responsibilities.

Long-Term Services and Supports

Oversees programs for Kentuckians who need ongoing support due to their age, a medical condition, or a disability, offering a variety of options to meet each individual’s unique needs.

Mental Health

Supports implementation of prevention, treatment, crisis, and recovery services for Kentuckians impacted by Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Severe Emotional Disabilities (SED) and/or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Quality Living

Administers several programs that contribute to the care of people in Kentucky including the Home and Community-Based (HCB) Waiver, the Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and the Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund program.

Women’s Health

The state’s clearinghouse for data and information on women’s health issues. The site maintains a women’s health resource center and routinely conducts outreach and education on numerous women’s health topics.

CHFS also has several different advisory commissions, councils, and boards to help ensure they are fulfilling the mission of the CHFS.
