1.1.2 – New Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) 1% Cap on Alternate Assessment Participation

States must ensure the total number of students assessed in each subject using alternate assessments does not exceed 1% of the total number of all students in the statewho are assessed in that subject.

Kentucky has requested a waiver of the cap and the waiver is limited to one year.
